Our Work
Our project, Caregifters, is a student initiative formed by a group of Y12 students attending Renaissance College Hong Kong - Hazel Wong, Enoch Lai, Abby Wong, Toshi Iwata, and Isabella Fong. Who all share a mutual interest in helping out our local community, and raising awareness on societal issues. Through fundraisers, Caregifters produces and distributes themed care packages bimonthly. Our care packages are a form of aid in parcel form distributed to underprivileged communities. The Care packages would consist of basic daily necessities such as toiletries, clothing, and hygiene products. The issue of homelessness hinders many individuals from celebrating holidays such as Easter, Christmas, and the Lunar New Year due to their limited finances and time due to work. The goal of Caregifters is not to just create care packages that provide basic necessities, but also give a themed touch to engage with the receiver.
The idea for Caregifters is rooted in monthly subscription box services, where customers pay to receive parcels each month. These parcels, containing various physical products, are often themed under the month it is being sent in to make the receiver feel included in the upcoming seasons. Similarly, Caregifters also targets a monthly theme approach, allowing the receivers to feel included in the holidays. The content of Caregifters packages contains the necessities of hygiene, clothing, and food that reflect the theme of the month they are delivered in.
Providing Immediate Care for those in Need
We aim to strengthen the bond with our local community and leave a positive impact on the homeless community in Hong Kong through this project. The mission of Caregifters is directly linked to: SDG 1 - No Poverty.
SDG 1: No Poverty: The goal aims to ensure that the poor and vulnerable have equal access to resources and meet the basic needs of the Underprivileged.By providing basic necessities like hygiene products & warm clothing items, we aim to ensure that the basic needs of the underprivileged are met, as well as to ensure that they are able to sustain themselves in all weather conditions.

Collaboration
We are currently partnering with ImpactHK to assist in our student intiative. Through this partnership, ImpactHK has provided us with a platform to connect us with ones in need through their centre. Their contribution to this project makes it possible for us to distribute these care packages to the homeless community. With the kind assistance from ImpactHK, Caregifters has been able to help ones in need.
